Discovery of body in Killarney on the 18/6/09 - Update

A murder investigation is being conducted by Superintendent Maher.

 

The post mortem of the deceased has been completed by Dr. Margaret Bolster at Kerry General Hospital this evening (18/6/09). A murder investigation is being conducted by Superintendent Maher. The deceased male is named as Stephen Lyne, 17 years from Castlefalls, Ross Road, Killarney. 

 

Gardai are appealing for anyone that observed the deceased anytime between 9.30pm last night and 1.30am this morning (18/6/09) when his body was discovered on the Ross Road to contact them.

 

An incident room has been established at Killarney Garda Station and anyone with information is asked to contact 064-31222, or the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai in Killarney are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 17 year old local man.  The body was discovered on the Ross Road, Killarney, Co. Kerry at about 1.45 a.m. on 18/6/09.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The scene at Rock Road is preserved for forensic technical examination and the body of the man remains at the scene pending the arrival of Dr Margaret Bolster from the State Pathologists Office.
