A man was arrested in connection with the incident
Gardai at Castlebar, Co. Mayo are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 61 year old woman in a house at Blackfort, Newport Road, Castlebar at approximately 4am this morning, the 7/7/09.
A 29 year old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and has since been released from custody and subsequently admitted to hospital.
The scene has been sealed off pending a Garda Technical Examination. The state pathologists office has been notified.
There is no more information at this time.
