Shots fired at Cabra, Dublin on the 22/1/09

At approximately 12.45 on the 22/1/09 the Garda Communications Centre received a call to say that shots had been fired through the front window and door of a house on St. Attracta Road, Cabra, Dublin 7.

 

At approximately a quarter to one this morning our Communications Centre received a call to say that shots had been fired through the front window and door of a house on St. Attracta Road, Cabra, Dublin 7.

On arrival at scene Garda members established that the persons responsible for the shooting made their getaway in a silver coloured 4 door car.

Following an immediate search of the area a silver Nissan was found crashed on Broombridge Road .

An 18 year old male was arrested nearby and was taken to Mountjoy Garda Station.

After further investigations another 18 year old male was arrested on suspicion of involvement in this incident.

He was taken to The Bridewell Garda station.

There was an adult male and female couple in the house at the time but no persons were injured.

Both the car and the house are being preserved for technical examination.

The arrested men are detained under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.

There is no further information available at this time.
