Drug and firearm seizure in Finglas, Dublin on the 9/1/09 - and update.

Gardai from the Finglas District Drug Unit assisted by Detective and local units conducted a planned search of a house on the 9/1/09.

 

The 22 year old man who was arrested in relation to yesterdays drugs and firearm seizure in Finglas has been released from Garda custody.

He has been charged and bailed to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on the 6th February 2009.

Gardai from the Finglas District Drug Unit assisted by Detective and local units conducted a planned search of a house yesterday evening the 9/1/09 and seized cannabis resin with the estimated street value of 10,000 euro (subject to analysis) along with a 9mm handgun.

The planned search was carried out on a house in the Cappagh area of Finglas and a 22 year old male was arrested at the scene. He is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996 and can be detained for up to 7 days.
