Serious Injury, Cork City

Gardaí in Anglesea Street, Cork are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a seriously injured man in the Friar's Walk area of Cork City this morning the 15th February, 2009 at about 7a.m.

 

Gardaí in Anglesea Street, Cork are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a seriously injured man in the Friar's Walk area of Cork City this morning the 15th February, 2009 at about 7a.m.

Gardaí were alerted to the incident by ambulance control.  The male, in his late 20's was removed to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8 a.m.

The area is sealed off and  crime scene examiners from the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested. The State Pathologist has been notified of the discovery.

There is no further information at present but updates will be provided as information becomes available.
