Advice on Clondalkin burglaries - 9/2/09

Gardaí at Clondalkin are advising residents in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas to be vigilant after a number of burglaries.

Gardaí at Clondalkin are advising residents in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas to be vigilant after a number of burglaries that occurred over the weekend.

There were three separate instances of burglary where access was gained to houses by people claiming to be employees of South Dublin County Council. They made an excuse of checking water pressure.

The contacts they made seemed genuine and seemed more so as they wore South Dublin County Council high visibility jackets.

Anyone who may have doubts regarding the authenticity of callers in this area can ring the council on 01 4574907.
