Fatal shooting in Ballysimon, Limerick on the 8/12/09 - Arrests

An additional three males have been arrested this afternoon.

An additional three males (ages range from late teens to early 20's) have been arrested this afternoon, Wednesday the 9th December 2009 in relation to the fatal shooting of a 25 year old man in Co. Limerick last night, the 8th December 2009.

They are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 in Mayorstone, Bruff and Henry Street Garda Stations.


This brings the total number of arrests to seven, which all currently remain in Garda custody.

Gardai investigating a fatal shooting in Limerick last evening, the 8/12/09 have arrested four people.

The incident took place at Cloughdromin, Ballysimon, Co. Limerick at about 9.30 p.m on the 8th of December.  A 25 year old man received a number of gunshot wounds and was taken to the Mid Western Hospital in Limerick.  The man was pronounced dead shortly after 10.00 p.m.


Gardai investigating the incident have arrested four people, a male, aged 19 and a juvenile female, are being held at Roxboro Garda Station and two females, one aged 38 and the other a juvenile, are being detained at Henry Street Garda Station.  All four were arrested shortly before 11.00p.m. on the 8th and are detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.  They can be detained for up to seven days.
