Attempted armed robbery at a post office in Finglas, Dublin on the 2/12/09

Three males will appear in court at 10.30am this morning, the 4/12/09.

They are charged in connection with the attempted robbery at Finglas Post Office on the 2/12/09.  Two will appear at Blanchardstown District Court and one will appear at the Juvenile Court in Smithfield.

Garda have arrested three men and recovered  a firearm following what Gardai believe to have been an attempted robbery at a post office in Finglas village.

The incident happened at about 8.00 a.m. on the 2nd of December 2009.  Local Gardai and Traffic Corp Gardai, responding to reports of the three man acting suspiciously at Ballygall Road, Finglas arrested the men near the scene.

Gardai have recovered what they believe to be a firearm, they also recovered gloves, masks and boilersuits. The area is preserved for forensic technical examination

The three men, all in their 20s, are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against at Finglas Garda Station.
