Fatal road traffic collision Carpenterstown, Dublin on the 25/8/09

A female pedestrian was injured when she was involved in a collision with a car.

 

Gardai in Blanchardstown are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 1.50pm today - 25th August 2009 at Diswellstown Road, Carpenterstown, Castleknock, Dublin 15.

 

An 11 year old female pedestrian was injured when she was involved in a collision with a car.

 

The male driver of the car was uninjured.

 

The girl was taken to James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where she was subsequently pronounced dead.

 

Gardai are asking anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01-6667000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.

 

Specifically Gardai are appealing to a man who was jogging in the area at the time and lent assistance at the scene and also the driver of a blue car which was travelling from the direction of Diswellstown Bridge towards St Patrick's National School, to contact them on the number above.
