Fatal road traffic collision at Kinsale, Cork on the 16/8/09

A male pedestrian was fatally injured after been struck by a car at Pewterhole Cross.

 

Gardai at Kinsale, Co. Cork are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at 3.10am this morning (Sunday August 16th 2009).

 

A 21 year old male pedestrian was fatally injured after been struck by a car at Pewterhole Cross, Kinsale, Co. Cork. His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital.

 

The car failed to stop at the scene, however in a follow up operation a car was located and an 18 year old man was arrested and detained at Togher Garda Station. He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
