Drugs Seizure at Donacarney, Meath on the 6/8/09

Cocaine (subject to analysis) valued at approximately €430,000 was recovered.

 

Gardai from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) and the Garda National Drugs Unit have seized a quantity of drugs and made three arrests following a Garda operation in Co. Meath yesterday, the 6th August 2009.

 

6kg of cocaine (subject to analysis) valued at approximately €430,000 was recovered, following the search of a house at Donacarney, Co. Meath.

 

Two men in their mid thirties have been arrested in relation to this seizure.  They are currently detained at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

 

In a follow up operation, a car was stopped nearby and a small amount of cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized.  Gardai arrested a 33 year old man at the scene and he is currently detained at Balbriggan Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

 

This investigation is ongoing.
