Body discovered Phoenix Park on the 5/8/09 - Renewed witness appeal & press briefing

A press briefing will take place at Blanchardstown Garda Station on the 11th August 2009.

 

The Gardai investigating the discovery of a female's body in the Phoenix Park Dublin on the 5th August 2009 are appealling for further  assistance  from the public.

A press briefing will take place at Blanchardstown Garda Station at 16.00hrs on this date - the 11th August 2009.

Gardai wish to renew their appeal to any person who may have been near the wooded area close to the changing rooms on Military road beside the area known locally as the 15 acres over the last three days, prior to the discovery of the body on the 5/8/09.

 

Gardai wish to appeal to anyone that was in the area or anyone that can assist to please contact Cabra Garda Station 01-6667400, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

 

The State Pathologists office has been notified and Dr. Curtis is scheduled to carry out a post mortem in the afternoon. The body has been removed from the scene.

 

The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

 

Note to Editors: It is anticipated that a Press Briefing will be held at the New Finglas Garda Station, Wellmount Rd. (opposite the Fire Station) at 4.30pm today (time of briefing to be confirmed).

Gardai at Cabra, Dublin are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a female in a wooded area at Military Road, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8 at approximately 3.30pm today (5th August 2009)

 

A Garda Technical team are currently at the scene and the area remains sealed off.

 

The State Pathologists office has been notified.
