The searches are being conducted by the Limerick Divisional Search Team assisted by members from Detective Branch and Uniform Gardai from within the Division, and supported by the Regional Response Unit and the Garda Air Support Unit.
As part of ongoing Garda investigations into organised criminal activity in the Limerick area planned searches were carried this morning the 30th of April 2009. There were up to forty premises searched as part of the operation. The searches are being conducted by the Limerick Divisional Search Team assisted by members from Detective Branch and Uniform Gardai from within the Division, and supported by the Regional Response Unit and the Garda Air Support Unit.
The operation is being implemented under the operational control of Southern Region Assistant Commissioner Kevin Ludlow.
The operation is ongoing and any updates will be released.
