Gardai have seized 100 kilograms of what is believed to be cannabis resin.
Gardai have seized 100 kilograms of what is believed to be cannabis resin and arrested 2 men (25 years and 36 years) and a woman (aged 29), following an operation on Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9, on the 8th April 2009.
The operation was carried out by the Garda National Drugs Unit.
At approximately 1.30pm a car was stopped on Griffith Avenue. A search of a vehicle uncovered 96kg of the resin.
The 2 men were arrested at the scene.
During a follow up search of a house in Clongriffin, Coolock the woman was arrested and a further 4kgs of resin was seized.
The resin (subject to analysis) has a street value of €700,000.
The two men are being detained at Ballmun Garda Station and the woman is detained in Coolock, all under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act. They may be detained for up to seven days.
