Drug seizure and arrests in Ballyfermot, Dublin on the 31/3/09

Gardai have seized a kilogram of heroin and arrested a man at St. Laurence's Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10.

 

Gardai have seized a kilogram of heroin and arrested a man in his 20's, following an operation at St. Laurence's Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, on the 31st of March 2009. The operation was carried out by the Garda Organised Crime Unit.

At approximately 8.00pm a car was stopped on St. Laurence’s Road. A search of the vehicle uncovered a package, which on analysis at the Forensic Science Laboratory at Garda Headquarters contained approximately 1 kilogram of heroin with a street value of €200,000.

The arrested man is detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act. He may be detained for up to seven days.
