Attempted armed robbery in East Wall, Dublin on the 8/4/09 - witness appeal

Gardaí in Store Street have arrested four men in relation to an attempted robbery which occurred on a security van at a post office on Church Road, East Wall, Dublin.

 

Gardai investigating the attempted robbery which occurred at a post office on Church Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 at approximately 9.20 am today (previous release below refers) are appealing to anyone who may have seen a dark grey Nissan Micra car with an 'L' plate travelling in the area prior to or immediately after the incident, or have any information to contact the incident room in Store Street on 01-6668089 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.

Gardaí in Store Street have arrested four men in relation to an attempted robbery which occurred on a security van at a post office on Church Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 at approximately 9.20 am today 8th April 2009.

A masked raider entered the post office armed with a firearm, threatened staff and demanded money. He fled the scene without any money.

It is believed a shot was fired during the incident.

One of the security staff received a minor injury during the incident

The four men (all in their 20s) were arrested on Jones Road, Dublin3 at approximately 12pm today 8th April 2009.

They are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act in Store Street and Mountjoy Garda station.

Gardaí are currently conducting following up searches in the area.
