Assault at Emly, Tipperary on the 31/3/09 - and further update

Gardaí at Tipperary Town are investigating an incident which occurred in Glen Court, Emly, Co. Tipperary.

 

A teenage male will appear at Nenagh District Court at 10am on the 3rd April charged in relation to this incident.

Another teenaged male was arrested this morning the 3rd of April and detained at Tipperary Garda station under section 30 Offences Against the State Act.

Three of the 5 men arrested in relation to this incident will appear before Roscrea District Court tomorrow morning at 10.30am.

The other 2 men were released without charge and a file will be prepared for The Director of Public Prosecutions regarding their detentions.

Gardaí at Tipperary Town are investigating an incident which occurred in Glen Court, Emly, Co. Tipperary at approximately 3.30pm today, 31st March 2009.

During the course of this incident one man received stab wounds to his back and a second man received a gun shot wound to his leg.

One of the men was taken to the Regional Hospital Limerick and the second man to South Tipperary Hospital. Both sustained injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Later on this afternoon Gardaí from Tipperary Town and Gardaí from Limerick in a follow up investigation stopped a car on Tipperary Road, Ballysimon, Limerick City. Five men in the car, all in their 20s, were arrested.

They are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act in Tipperary Town, Cahir, Henry Street and Roxboro Road Garda stations.
