Gardai in Roxboro Road, Limerick are investigating a shooting incident which occurred on the 31st May 2008 shortly after 3pm. The incident happened at Lilac Court at the junction of Collins Ave / South Hill, Limerick.
As a result of a firearm being discharged, a 6 year old girl was injured. She was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital and her injuries are described as are not life threatening.
The scene is being preserved pending a technical examination.
It is believed that two vehicles were involved in this incident and that the injured girl was not targeted intentionally.
