Theft of trucks at Dundalk, Louth on the 6/3/08.

Men purchased two trucks for €65,000 from a company at Carrickarnon, Dundalk, Co. Louth.

 

On the 6th March 2008 two men purchased two trucks for €65,000 from a company at Carrickarnon, Dundalk, Co. Louth.

They paid for the vehicles in cash, using €200 notes.

A subsequent examination of the notes established they were counterfeit. 

Garda investigating this incident detained two Lithuanian Nationals at Dublin Port on the 7th of March 2008 and two lorries were recovered.

Both men were detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. 

Gardai request that the public and in particular businesses be on the alert for this type of activity.

Anyone who has had any similar incidents happen to them is asked to report the matter their local Garda Station.
