Murder investigation at Blanchardstown, Dublin and updates.

Gardai investigating the murder of Mark Smyth have arrested a male and female.

 

A 22 year old man will appear at a sitting of the Dublin District Court No. 44, at 10.30 am on the 22nd of March 2008 charged in relation to the murder of Mark Smith on the 18th of March 2008. 

A 25 year old female who was detained as part of the same investigation was released without charge and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai investigating the murder of Mark Smyth have arrested a male and female (both aged in their 20's ) this evening.

Both are being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. 

A photograph of the deceased person, Mark Smyth, from Blanchardstown is available on request.

Gardai from Blanchardstown Garda station investigating the murder of a man at Fortlawn Avenue believe that the deceased was not working as a taxi driver at the time of this incident.

The man who who died at Fortlawn Avenue Blanchardstown on the 18/3/2008 at 10.08 pm has been named as Mark Smyth 31 years from The Hawthorns, Duleek, Co. Meath.

Gardai from Blanchardstown Garda Station, Dublin have begun a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 31 year old male at Fortlawn Avenue, Blanchardstown after 10 p.m. last night.

Gardai have preserved the scene at Fortlawn Avenue for technical examination and are appealing for any person with information to contact Blanchardstown Gardai on 01-666-7000.
