Shooting incident at Limerick on the 25/3/08 - and update.

Gardaí at Mayorstone in Limerick are investigating an incident of shots being fired at six different houses on St. Ita Street, St. Mary's Park

 

Gardai at Mayorstone have arrested three males in connection with a shooting incident at St. Marys Park, Limerick, on the 25th of March 2008. 

Two males are being detained at Mayorstone Garda Station - an 18 year old under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act (can be detained for a period up to 72hrs) and a 21 year old under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 (can be detained for up to 24 hrs).

The other 21 year old male is being detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. 

The 18 year old was arrested late yesterday evening while the two 21 year old were arrested this morning.

Gardaí at Mayorstone in Limerick are investigating an incident of shots being fired at six different houses on St. Ita Street, St Mary's Park. 

This happened at approximately 8.45pm last night, the 25/3/08. 

All six houses were damaged but no persons were injured. 

It is believed that an automatic firearm was used. 

A car was used in these shootings and was later recovered in Co. Clare. 

The scene of the shootings and the car are presently being preserved for technical examination.  Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.
