Assistant Garda Commissioner, Garda National Traffic Bureau will launch a song titled "On Wings"  at 3.00pm on Thursday the 19th of June 2008 at Westmanstown Sports and Conference Centre, Clonsilla, Dublin 15.

An Garda Síochána, through the Garda Youth Project Office, Garda Community Relations in conjunction with Limerick based Garda Youth Diversion Projects are supporting a Traffic and Road Safety initiative targeted at young people through the medium of a song entitled "On Wings" recorded on a charity CD by Ms. Leanne Moore, winner of RTÉ’s "You’re a Star" programme, 2008.

The song was written by 17 year old Jamie Bridgeman after the death of his two cousins Robin O’Riordan and Leanne Miller (ex-Limerick), both aged 15 at the time, who died as a  result of a Road Traffic collision.

Jamie’s mother and aunt of the two deceased, Marion Bridgeman approached An Garda Síochána in an effort to secure the support of Gardaí in producing the song.

The Garda Commissioner agreed to support the initiative and the Corpus Christi Youth Development Group (CCYDG), a Garda Youth Diversion Project based in Moyross, Limerick was identified as the funding channel.

It was also agreed that the proceeds from the sale of the CD will be given to the charity ADD Mid West Support Ltd.
