Fatal road traffic collision at Tullygay, Donegal on the 16/6/08 - and updates.

Gardaí at Letterkenny are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R250 at Tullygay, 3kms the Glenties side of Letterkenny in Donegal.

 

Gardaí in Letterkenny are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the fatal collision which occured at Tullygally, Newmills, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal on the 16th of June 2008 at approximately 8.45pm (press release 752/'08 refers, please find attached below).  

In particular, they are appealing for any person who may have seen the car involved in the collision (a silver two door Toyota Corolla hatchback) as it travelled from Derry towards Letterkenny and on to Churchill on the R250 prior to its arrival at the townland of Tullygally between 8.45pm and 8.50pm.

The girl who died in last nights collision at Tullygay, 3kms the Glenties side of Letterkenny, (previous release 752/'08 below refers) has been named as Ms. Kerry Ann Meehan, Manorview, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal originally from Derry.   

Her 3 month old child has been named as Neisha Meehan also from Manorview, Letterkenny.

Gardaí at Letterkenny are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R250 at Tullygay, 3kms the Glenties side of Letterkenny, at approximately 8.45pm this evening. 

A jeep type vehicle towing a trailer full of sheep was in collision with a car. 

The car had three occupants. 

A female front seat passenger, believed to be in her early 20's is deceased and remains at the scene.

A three month old infant girl travelling in the back is also deceased and has been removed to Letterkenny General Hospital. 

The male driver of the car incurred serious injuries and has been taken to Letterkenny General Hospital. 

The male driver and sole occupant of the jeep also incurred serious injuries and has been taken to Letterkenny General as well. 

The road is closed and there is a possibility it will remain closed for the next 24 hours. 

Gardaí, emergency services and a vet dealing with sheep killed in the collision are presently at scene.
