Graduation Ceremony at Templemore on the 31/7/08.

The Minister presented Certificates to 286 Gardaí at a Graduation Ceremony at the Garda College, Templemore today the 31/7/08.

 

Please note The Minister For Defence Mr Wille O' Dea T.D.  will attend the Graduation Ceremony in Templemore tomorrow and not The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr. Dermot Ahern, T.D as stated in Press Release Ref: 913/08.

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr. Dermot Ahern, T.D., presented Certificates to 286 Gardaí (85 Females and 201 Males) at a Graduation Ceremony at the Garda College, Templemore today.

The COMMISSIONER’S MEDAL – awarded to the Student achieving the highest aggregate marks in academic subjects – was won by Garda John Horkan, a native of Swinford, Co. Mayo and who will be stationed at Athlone Garda Station    

GARY SHEEHAN MEMORIAL MEDAL was awarded to Garda Declan O’Keefe a native of Youghal, Co. Cork, commemorating a Recruit Garda who was killed on duty in Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, in December, 1983.  This prize is awarded to the best all-round Student.  Garda O’Keefe will be attached to Kevin Street Garda Station.    

THE TEMPLEMORE TOWN COUNCIL MEDAL, for outstanding achievement and appreciation in the area of Social Science Studies, was presented to Garda Conor Egan, a native of Newport, Co. Tipperary and who will be stationed at Ballymun Garda Station.
