A man is in custody at Tallaght Garda Station following an incident in a house at Virginia Heights, Blessington Road, Tallaght, Dublin.
A man in his 30's is in custody at Tallaght Garda Station following an incident in a house at Virginia Heights, Blessington Road, Tallaght at 11.30 p.m. on the 21th of January 2008.
Gardai were responding to a report that two men had broken into a house at that location when they spotted two men near the scene.
One man was arrested and is detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act. A second man is being sought.
A shotgun, pistol and balaclava where recovered during follow up searches.
During the incident at the house, cash was demanded from the occupants (a couple and their two adult sons) and a number of shots were fired.
There were no injuries and no property was stolen during the incident.
The scene is sealed off for forensic examination and the incident is under investigation.
