Gardaí investigating the murder of Andrew Burns are appealing for information

Iinvestigating Gardaí will revisit the scene near St. Columba’s Church in the village of Doneyloop in Co. Donegal.

 

Gardaí investigating the murder of Andrew Burns are re-issuing their appeal to the public for information about the killing.

One week on from the murder, investigating Gardaí will revisit the scene near St. Columba’s Church in the village of Doneyloop in Co. Donegal where Andrew Burns’s body was found last Tuesday evening, 12 February, shortly after 7 p.m.

 

Gardaí will mount a number of checkpoints in the area and speak to members of the community in order to gain more information about what happened that evening. They will also be asking people to fill out questionnaires in order to prompt recollections of this night one week ago.

 

There are a number of specific appeal points on which Gardaí are anxious to gather information and they will be asking people whether they recall any of the following details:

 

Were you in the Waterfront Bar Strabane between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.?

Did you travel on the Main Street, Strabane between 6.45 p.m. and 7 p.m. and did you see Andrew Burns going into his apartment?

Did you observe any vehicles travelling between the Fern area and Doneyloop between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.?

 

Gardaí are working in close co-operation with their colleagues in the Police Service of Northern Ireland who will also be engaging with the public in order to find out more about the hours leading up to murder of Mr. Burns.
