Fatal road traffic collision at Borris-in-Ossory, Laois on the 2/2/08 - update and name

Gardai from Abbeyleix Garda station, Laois are investigating a fatal road collision which happened on the Borris-in-Ossory to Roscrea N7 road.

 

The victims of the two vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the 2/2/08 in Borris-In-Ossory (Previous release below refers) have been named.

They Are:

1.  Marika Rossi, Glen Arms Square, Drumcondra, Dublin, aged 24.
2.  David Dziemianowicz, Gle Arms Square, Drumcondra, Dublin, aged 21.
3.  William Quane, Monaskeha, Clonlara, Co Clare, aged 34.
4.  Sean O'Donoghue, Lisaleen, Patrickswell, Co Limerick, aged 37.

In relation to the fatal road traffic collision which occurred this morning 2/2/08, the location of the accident was Ballaghmore Lower in Borris-In-Ossory.

One of the vehicles involved had three male occupants in their 30's.  Two of the men were killed in the collision and one remains in a serious condition in Portlaoise Hospital.

The other vehicle had two occupants, both  of whom died in the collision.  They were a male and female both in their mid 20's.

The road has now been re-opened.

There is no further information at present.

Gardai from Abbeyleix Garda station, Laois are investigating a fatal road collision which happened after 9.30 a.m. on the Borris-in-Ossery to Roscrea N7 road.

Two cars were in collision resulting in the death of 4 people (2 in each car), a front seat passenger in one of the cars was seriously injured. All involved were taken to Portlaoise Hospital.

The road is now closed. Gardai are appealing for any motorist's who witnessed the collision or who were travelling on the road this morning to contact Abbeyleix Garda station on 057-873-0580.

Traffic heading south is being diverted from Borris-in-Ossory through Templemore and traffic heading north is being diverted through Templemore to Borris-in-Ossory.
