Body discovered at Grand Canal, Dublin on the 18/2/08 - and updates

Gardai are investigating the discovery of the body of a male on the bank of the Grand Canal between Kylemore Road and the Naas Road.

 

Please note that that the press conference schedulled for 4.45pm at Kilmainham Garda Station has now been reschedulled for 5.00pm.

In relation to the discovery of a body discovered this morning on the bank of the Grand Canal (previous release refers), a press conference will be held at 4.45pm this evening at Kilmainham Garda Station.

Gardai are investigating the discovery of the body of a male believed to be in his late teens or early twenties.

The body was discovered shortly before 8 a.m on the 18th of February 2008 on the bank of the Grand Canal between Kylemore Road and the Naas Road and appears to have head injuries. 

The scene in the area is preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist's Office has been notified.

When more details become available updates will be issued.
