Explosives found in Kells, Meath on the 17/12/08 & court update

Following an operation carried out by Uniform & Detective Gardai from Navan and Kells, a car containing three males was stopped on the outskirts of Kells at approximately 11.30pm last night 17/12/08 and court update.

Two males will appear in Dublin District Court 44 this morning (20.12.08) at 10.30am charged in connection with the explosives find near Kells, Co. Meath, on the 17.12.08. The third male being detained was released, without charge, from custody last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Following an operation carried out by Uniform & Detective Gardai from Navan and Kells, a car containing three males was stopped on the outskirts of Kells at approximately 11.30pm last night 17/12/08.

Following a search of the car a quantity of explosives & detonators were discovered.

The three men were arrested under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against The State Act and are detained at Navan and Kells Garda Stations.

This operation is on-going this morning.
