Traffic alerts - Dublin on the 10/8/08 - and updates

Serious road traffic conditions due to flooding in the Dublin area on the 10/8/08.

 

The M50 has now been re-opened both Northbound and Southbound following earlier closures due to flooding.

The M1 at Whitehall has now been re-opened on both sides following earlier closures due to flooding.

The N3 near Blanchardstown has now been re-opened and traffic is moving normally in both directions. 

Considerable delays can still be expected on the M50 as there is still severe flooding on both northbound and southbound lanes.

The Dublin Port Tunnel Southbound (inbound) has been re-opened and will be toll-free until 4.00pm to accomodate traffic coming from the North going to Croke Park.

Gardai are reminding motorists travelling to Croke Park that there is still severe flooding on the M50 both northbound and southbound. 

Gardai are urging people to avoid the M50 if possible.  Leave plenty of time for you journey as long delays can be expected.

The following roads are still closed or partially closed.  The N3 near Blanchardstown is closed in both directions and should be avoided if possible. 

The M1 is closed at Shantalla Bridge and will remain closed for several hours.  Diversions are in place.  People intending to travel to Croke Park for todays games are asked to avoid the M50, to leave plenty of time for their journey and to expect delays.
