The Gardai at Waterford are investigating a shooting incident at a house in the Ballybeg area this afternoon (14/8/08).
A 14year old boy received gunshot wounds. He has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
In a follow-up operation a burnt out vehicle was discovered approx 3 miles from Waterford city. Gardai are investigating the possibility that the two incidents are linked.
A full Garda technical operation examination was carried out at the scene and investigations are on-going.
