During the course of a checkpoint carried out as part of Operation Anvil at Garryoutragh, Mogeely, Co. Cork shortly after 10pm last night - 14th August 2008.
Three persons in their 20's were arrested after a car was stopped and searched. A sawn-off shotgun, cartridges and a number of balaclavas were recovered in the course of the search. A male and female are currently in custody in Middleton Garda Station, and the other male is being detained in Fermoy Garda Station.
All three are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
