Armed robbery at Foynes, Limerick on the 25/8/08.

Gardaí at Askeaton are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a service station on Main Street, Foynes, Co. Limerick, shortly before 11pm on the 25/8/08.

 

Gardaí at Askeaton are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a service station on Main Street, Foynes, Co. Limerick, shortly before 11pm last night. 

A female, who was sitting in her car outside the service station, was approached by a man who took her out of her car and led her into the shop attached to the service station at knife point.  At this stage the man in the shop was joined by two other men.  One of these was armed with what was believed to be a single barrel shotgun and the other was armed with what was believed to be a pump action shotgun.  The tills were emptied and the raiders left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Two shots were fired during the course of this robbery but no persons were injured.  The raiders are described as being 5' 7'' or 5' 8'' tall with slim build.  All their faces were covered and they were wearing dark clothing.  They are believed to be non Irish Nationals.
