Appeal for witnesses - road traffic collision on the M50 on the 23/8/08.

Gardai at Shankill Garda Station, Co. Dublin, are appealing for witnesses to a collision that occurred on the southern end of the M50 at approximately 2pm on the 23/08/2008.

 

Gardai at Shankill Garda Station, Co. Dublin, are appealing for witnesses to a collision that occurred on the southern end of the M50 at approximately 2pm today the 23/08/2008. 

A lorry, travelling south, collided with a footbridge, locally known as the 'Newvale footbridge' , that spans this section of the M50. Damage was done to the footbridge and the lorry failed to stop.   This section of road is where the N11 merges with the southern end of the M50 to become the M11. 

Any driver who were travelling on the M50 southbound or who was coming from the N11 onto the M50 heading south, and who may have witnessed this incident, is asked to contact the Gardai at Shankill Garda Station on 01-6665900 or any Garda Station.  In addition any lorry drivers / lorry owners who may have travelled this route at this time are asked to examine their vehicles for related damage.
