Shooting at Kimmage, Dublin on the 26/1/08 - and updates.

Garda are investigating a shooting incident on Lower Kimmage Road in Dublin

 

The man being detained in Crumlin Garda Station in relation to the above shooting was released from custody without charge on the 25/4/08. 

A file is bing prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.  (Previous release 538/08 below refers)

Gardaí in Crumlin this morning arrested a male in his mid 20s in relation to a shooting (Press Release 105/08 below refers).  

The arrest took place in Ballyfermot at approximately 7am.

The male is being held in Crumlin Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Garda are investigating a shooting incident on Lower Kimmage Road in Dublin at about 3.10 p.m. on the 26th of January 2008. 

A man in his 50's is believed to have been shot a number of times in the incident. 

The man was shot as he sat in a car, and he tried to drive away to escape his attackers. 

The car crashed a short distance away. 

The injured man has been taken to St James' Hospital. 

The scene of the incident has been preserved for technical examination. 

Gardai at Crumlin Garda Station are asking anyone who was in the area or who saw any unusual activity in the Lower Kimmage Road area to contact then on 01 666 62 00
