Graduation Ceremony at Garda College, Templemore on the 24th April, 2008.

 

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr. Brian Lenihan, T.D., presented Certificates to 261 Gardaí (81 Females and 180 Males) at a Graduation Ceremony at the Garda College, Templemore on the 24/4/08.

 

The COMMISSIONER’S MEDAL – awarded to the Student achieving the highest aggregate marks in academic subjects – was won by Garda John Kelleher, a native of Bandon, Co. Cork, and who will be stationed at Fermoy Garda Station 

 

GARY SHEEHAN MEMORIAL MEDAL - awarded to Garda Dennis Carrigan, a native of Rathcoole in Co. Dublin, commemorating a Recruit Garda who was killed on duty in Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, in December, 1983.  This prize is awarded to the best all-round Student.  Garda Carrigan will be attached to Kevin Street Garda Station. 

 

THE TEMPLEMORE TOWN COUNCIL MEDAL, for outstanding achievement and appreciation in the area of Social Science Studies, was presented to Garda Margaret Loftus, a native of Balla, Co. Mayo, and who will be stationed at Ballymun Garda Station.
