Appeal - traffic collision Limerick School Bus on the 7/2/18

Gardai in Roxboro road investigating a collision on the 7th February 2018 involving a car and a school bus at Connolly's Cross, Caherconlish, Co Limerick are appealing for witnesses.

The school bus had collected pupils in Caherconlish village at approx. 8.15am and was travelling towards Hospital village on the R513. The car was travelling from Mitchelstown towards Caherconlish. The collision occurred at 8.30am.  

Gardai are appealing for witnesses especially anyone who may have been on that stretch of road at the relevant time and/or may have dash cams are asked to contact them on Roxboro road at 061 214340, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a traffic collision involving a school bus and a car. The collision occurred at approximately 8.30am on the R513 between Caherconlish and Herbertstown. Gardaí and Emergency Services are at the scene and local traffic diversions are in place.

It is understood 40 students from a nearby secondary school were travelling on the bus at the time. A number of students have been taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment the extent of injuries are not known but are thought to be minor in nature. The drivers of both vehicles have also been taken to hospital.
