As part of an on going investigation into the distribution of counterfeit goods, Gardaí from the Crime Unit attached to Cavan Garda station, the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Revenue Customs supported by IRMA have seized counterfeit goods with an approx. street value of €70,000.
The seizure was made following a planned search at a premises on the Main Street, Cavan on the 27th July 2016.
Two people, a man (32 years) and a woman (36 years), were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Ballyconnell Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
The counterfeit goods seized consist of DVD's and Beauty Products.
