Witness Appeal - Sudden death Westland Row, Dublin on the 31/1/16

Gardai in Pearse Street are inveon stigating all the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a male who collapsed on Westland Row this morning and wish to appeal for witnesses.

At approximately 7.30am a male in his late 30’s wearing an orange jacket was found collapsed on Westland Row. This man had been walking up Westland Row towards Lincoln Place and collapsed on to the roadway. A passing motorist stopped and rendered first aid and CPR.

The man was brought to St. James's Hospital but later died. A post mortem is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow.

There were a number of people on the street at that time and Gardai are seeking their assistance in relation to the incident.

Gardai in Pearse Street are asking anybody who may have been on Westland Row between 7.25am and 7.45am this morning and witnessed this man or who can assist with the investigation to contact them on 01- 6669000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
