Renewed Witness appeal - Fatal traffic collision in Hartstown, Dublin 3rd January 2016

Gardaí in Blanchardstown wish to renew their appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in Hartstown, Dublin on the 3rd January 2016.

At approximately 2.40am two female pedestrians (40s) were seriously injured when they were struck by a car on Hartstown Road. Both were taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. One of the women was later pronounced dead, the second remains in a serious condition in hospital. The occupants of the car, three males (20s) were uninjured in the collision.

Gardaí are seeking to speak with any witnesses - pedestrian, motorists, taxi drivers or persons travelling in taxis, who were in the vicinity of the Topaz Garage/Convenience Store, Hartstown Road Clonsilla on the 03/01/2015 between 2.30am and 2.40am.
Garda are also seeking to identify the driver of a Taxi who passed the scene at the time of the occurrence of the collision.

At approximately 2.40am two female pedestrians (40s) were seriously injured when they were struck by a car on Hartstown Road. Both were taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. One of the women was later pronounced dead, the second remains in a serious condition. The occupants of the car were uninjured.
 
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are at the scene and local traffic diversions are in place. The Coroner has been notified.
