Fatal traffic collision in Durrus, Cork on the 30/1/16

Gardaí in Bantry are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Durrus Co. Cork on 30th January 2016.

At approximately 01.55hrs a 63-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a 4x4 vehicle on Kilcrohane Road (L4704), Durrus. He was treated at the scene where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His body has since been removed to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The coroner has been notified.

The road is currently closed to traffic and local diversions are in place. The scene will be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators later this morning.
