Drugs seizure and arrests at Bellewstown, Meath on the 24/8/16

As part of ongoing investigations into serious crime in the Meath division Gardaí attached to the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau supported by Gardaí from the Meath division carried out a search of a premised in the Bellewstown area of Co Meath yesterday (24/8/16).

During the course of this search heroin, ecstasy tablets, cannabis resin and cannabis herb (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of €500,000 along with cash totalling €70,000 was seized. Mixing agents and other paraphernalia associated with the preparation of illicit drugs for the street market were also seized.
 
Two men (33yrs & 26yrs) have been arrested in connection with this investigation and are currently detained at Kells Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.    
 
These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
 
Investigations are continuing.
