As part of an ongoing operation investigating organised criminal activity, Gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Unit stopped a searched two cars in the Blanchardstown area at 9.30am on Saturday 25th September. During the course of the search Gardaí found €160,000 in cash.
Two men, one in his 20's and the other in his 40's, were arrested at the scene and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
In a follow operation Gardaí searched houses in Clonsilla and Neilstown and uncovered another €100,000 in cash in a house in Clonsilla. A woman in her 30's was arrested and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act. The woman has since been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Both men remain in custody.
