Robbery at Arklow, Wicklow on the 28/7/15

Gardaí at Arklow are investigating a robbery which occurred at a Service Station on the Dublin Road, Arklow at approximately 5pm yesterday (28/7/15).

A masked lone male raider entered the premises armed with what is believed to be a knife; he threatened staff and demanded cash.

The raider then left the Service Station in the direction of Briggs Lane, Arklow. Gardaí were alerted and in a follow up search a man in his 20’s was arrested in connection with this robbery. He was detained at Arklow Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

All the cash has been recovered.

The man was released from custody last night (28/7/15) and a file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations are continuing.
