Discovery of a body of a newborn baby in Cork on the 29/7/13

Gardai at Anglesea St. are investigating the discovery of a body of a newborn baby boy at a house in Cork City on the 29th July 2013.

The discovery was made by medical staff attending to an emergency call at a house in Deerpark at approximately 1630 hours. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene which is preserved for a technical examination. The Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Bolster has attended the scene.  A post mortem examination will be held at Cork University Hospital tomorrow, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.


The mother of the baby is currently receiving medical attention.
