Unidentified male - Galway - 3/2/13

Gardaí in Galway are seeking the public's assistance in relation to the recovery of a body of a man from the River Corrib on Saturday morning 2nd February 2013 at approximately 9.30am.

The man is described as 6'2" in height, of medium build with a weathered complexion (consistent to spending large amount of time outdoors).  He has grey receding hair with a red/brown tinge going through it.  He has grey stubble with a hint of red.


When recovered from the water the man was wearing:


- a black t-shirt with a multi-coloured picture of an eagle on the front   ('Cedarwood State' purchased in Penneys)

- black combat trousers (Penneys)

- a white Nike brand hoodie

- black Oakley trainers size 12 with white soles.

- the deceased was also wearing brown wooden rosary beads around his neck, which has 'Medjugore' written on the cross

- the deceased has no scars, tattoos or piercings.

No photograph of the deceased will be released and no Garda spokesperson will be speaking on the matter.  Gardaí are treating the death as a tragic incident and are investigating this for the purpose of coroner inquest.
