Fatal Traffic Collision Mayo 23rd December 2013

An 81 year woman has died in hospital following a collision in Castlebar, Co. Mayo on the 23rd of December 2013.

The female pedestrian was struck by a car as she crossed the Pontoon Road in the town at about 1.30pm.  She was removed by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital but died there late yesterday evening.
 
The collision is under investigation by Gardaí and any witnesses are asked to contact Castlebar Garda Station on 094 9038200.
