Unidentified body in Down, Northern Ireland - Press release issued on behalf of PSNI

Please find press release issued by An Garda Siochana on behalf of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

The PSNI in Down are trying to identify a man whose body was discovered in the sea close to Ardglass harbour on Saturday, the 18th August 2012.


Post Mortem examination continues into the cause of his death, however officers do not know this man’s identity.


He is described as 30-40 years old, medium build, 5 feet 8 inches tall with light facial stubble and a round face. Dark or black receding hair that was combed back.


He wore navy blue woollen jumper, over a horizontal light and dark blue striped long sleeved top, blue denim jeans and brown casual trainers.


Police are also investigating a line of enquiry that the man may have recently been in the Irish Republic as he was carrying Republic of Ireland issue euros.
