Drug seizure in Finglas and Santry, Dublin on the 22/7/09 - Court appearance

A man been charged and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am on the 24/7/09.


Gardaí at Finglas investigating 2 separate drug seizures have released 3 of 4 men arrested.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and submitted on completion.

The 4th man who was arrested has been charged and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am this morning, the 24/7/09.  He is 22 years of age.

Gardai in Finglas investigating the seizure of a substance believed to be heroin (subject to analysis) on St. Margarets Road, Finglas yesterday -22nd July 2009 (previous release below refers) carried out a follow up search at an apartment in the Northwood Complex in Santry yesterday evening shortly after 8.00pm.

In the course of the search they recovered what is believed to be a further €280,000 worth of heroin subject to analysis. 

Two men aged 23 and 26 were arrested and are currently being detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

Meanwhile one of the arrested men referred to in previous release 694/09 has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai in Finglas are investigating the seizure of a substance believed to be heroin (subject to analysis) on St Margarets Rd Finglas on the 22 July 2009 at approx. 01.20hrs.

Two men in their mid 20s were arrested and conveyed to Finglas Garda Station where they were detained under Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act. The value of the drug seizure is believed to be in the region of €250,000.
