Gardai at Store Street Garda Station are investigating a suspected shooting incident at 10pm on the 31th of August 2008 at West Road, East Wall, Dublin 3.
Gardai on patrol in the area came upon an man lying on the footpath. The man in his early 20's and who is from the locality, had injuried to his lower right leg. He was taken by ambulance to the Mater Hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Gardai are investigating the possibility that a handgun was used in the shooting. The area has been sealed of for forensic examination by Garda Crime Scene Examiners.
